Finding My Mission: A Decade of Growth, Doubt, and Clarity

Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results” Albert Einstein

I’ve lived this quote in so many ways over the years—whether it was chasing physical results by guessing my nutritional requirements, putting off my education (until recently!), or searching for my purpose while not trusting in the process. Sound familiar? If you’ve been there too, drop a comment below—I’d love to hear your story. No filter needed.

For over ten years, I’ve been on a journey—both personal and professional—filled with highs, lows, and plenty of uncertainty. There were moments I felt lost, times when fear and self-doubt derailed me, and yet, here I am, still striving to carve out a space where I can show up as my most authentic self.

It started with a dream of becoming a personal trainer, then evolved when my mom suggested we start a business together. That’s how Active Listening For Wellbeing CIC was born in 2014. The support was there—my mom, business networks—but I struggled to define my why. What was the mission that would drive me forward?

In 2017, I went back to university to study Business, thinking it was the logical next step. But doubt crept in: Was I smart enough? Could I really do this? It’s the same kind of uncertainty many feel when trying to take control of their nutrition—overwhelmed by influencers, conflicting advice, and the pressure to succeed.

Just like building sustainable eating habits, my academic journey had its ups and downs. Despite solid grades, I constantly feared it would all be taken away. Yet today, I hold a 2:1 in Business Management, a Master’s in Sports Coaching, and another in Business Psychology. More importantly, I’ve found my purpose: helping as many of nearly 70% of the UK workforce classified as overweight or obese build healthier, sustainable relationships with food.

That’s what gets me out of bed now knowing there’s real work to be done. And just like nutrition, clarity comes with time, patience, and persistence. The mission is clear, and the journey continues.
